Tems went to Dowen School in Lagos for her optional training and later studied financial aspects at the College of Lagos. During her time in college, she started composition and recording music and in the end chose to seek after music as a profession.
Tems’ music is a mix of R&B, soul, and Afrobeat, and she refers to craftsmen like Amy Winehouse, Lauryn Slope, and Asa as impacts. Her remarkable sound has procured her a committed following, and she has become perhaps of the most thrilling youthful craftsman in Nigeria’s flourishing music scene.
